The Woodland Hills Youth Soccer Association is a youth soccer association that serves the youths of the Woodland Hills School District and surrounding communities in eastern Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. We are not directly affiliated with the Woodland Hills School District but are open to any child who resides within the WHSD's communities and neighbors. We are affiliated with PA West Soccer.

2012-2013 Registration Continues

Registration for all age groups for the fall 2012-spring 2013 season continues. The initial registration cutoff was June 30th. In the event that we don't have enough room for every child that registers, those that registered before June 30th get priority. Download the registration form and send it in today!

Edinboro State Open Tournament Results

WHYSA sent five teams to the state open tournament in Edinboro on June 15-17 and June 22-24. Here's a look at how they did:

  • U12 boys: Did not make it out of the group stage. This was the first year at the tournament for these boys.
  • U14 boys: WON their group, WON their semifinal game, and went on to WIN the championship for division 5. Congratulations U14 boys!
  • U16 boys: WON their group, WON their semifinal game, and went on to a tough loss in the finals against New Brighton.

  • U17 girls: Went 2-1 in their group and missed getting into the semifinal by 1 goal.
  • U19 boys: WON their group, and lost their semifinal game that went through overtime and into a shootout that took 9 shots to resolve.

WHYSA thanks the parents, coaches, and chaperones who helped make this event such a great experience for our kids. We plan to return in spring of 2013!

June 2012: Our in-house spring season is complete; travel teams have just one final week of soccer. On June 10th we'll be hosting a full day of soccer at Woodland Hills High School, as our U-14 boys, U-14 girls, U-16 boys, U-17 girls, and U-19 boys all have home games. All three of our U-12 teams have home games at Wilkins Elementary the same day. Please come cheer them on.

Older news...

November 2011: Our fall season has wrapped up; our U-14 boys team made it to the final round of the Leggett Cup, but lost in the final. Our travel and in-house season will pick back up in April, 2012. If you are interested in joining for spring, registration is still open at most age levels.

6 July 2011: The WHYSA U-14 boys, U-14 girls, U-16 boys, and U-19 boys traveled to Edinboro for the 2011 PA West State Open tournament again this summer. The U-16 boys won the division 4 championship! Congratulations, boys!

6 July 2011: We continue to accept registrations for the Fall 2011-Spring 2012 season.

30 June 2010:

Great Edinboro Results!

The Woodland Hills Youth Soccer Association sent four teams to the PA West State Open Tournament in Edinboro over the last two weekends and had great results against teams from across western PA.


June 18-20, the under-12 boys team, including Trevor Bubin, Jacob Chreky, Anthony Clark, Nick Cross, Michael Galaski, Stephen Harris, Brendan Howell, Matt Matsey, Cameron McIntosh, Mitchell Mroczkowski, Kevin Rode, Anthony Scaramouche, Max Shugerman, and Joey Wasielewski made the playoff round as a wild card for the Silver Division.

June 25-27, three teams attended the tournament. All three teams were wonderfully supportive of the others, attending one another's games as schedules allowed and cheering like crazy.


The Under-14 girls team made up of Grace Belmonte, Danielle Clark, Rebecca DeVito, Samantha Edinger, Brianna Guy, Erin Huang, Miranda Johnston, Sarah Letson, Elizabeth McKay, Myah Olson, Talia Orriola, Alison Rossey, Hannah Schmidt, Emily Scifo, Blaire Thomas, Meghan Watson and Nicole Welsh worked hard to finish in a tie for 3rd in their bracket in the Silver Division of the under-14 girls.


The under-14 boys team, consisting of Liam Bachtell, Matt Burch, Anthony Donatelli, Alex Gough, Jake Hellwig, Joshua Howell, Jake Houston, Jared Jenkins, Jimmy Kiley, Yoka Naranjo-Rooney, Kai Oshimo, Brian Wlahofsky, and Nelson Zhukas won the under-14 boys Silver Division championship in a penalty-kick shootout against South Fayette.


The under-16 boys team, made up of Matthew Clark, Kristina Dague, Luis Del Rio, Evan Fischer, John Galaski, John Gorol, Danny Herrle, Alex Howell, Jordan Potter, Mario Scaramouche, Greg Sorek, Dion Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, Kevin Wlahofsky, and Spencer Zhukas won the under-16 boys Silver Division championship 2-1 with an overtime goal against Baldwin-Whitehall.


Several U-14 boys stuck around to watch the U-16 championship.

Registration Continues

We are still accepting registrations for new players at all age levels; however, June 30th is the primary deadline for travel teams. Players registering after today are not guaranteed a spot. Here's the 2010-2011 registration form

Our end-of-season picnic will be at the main park in Forest Hills from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, June 5th. Register at the picnic and receive a free gift!

28 May 2009: Just a quick note: We are not in Woodland Hills, California. We're in Pennsylvania. We've gotten a few emails and phone calls from people in or near Woodland Hills, California who are interested in soccer. Sorry but we can't help you unless you want a really long commute!
